A memorial service for Adolph Edward "Bud" Dudenhoeffer Jr., 98, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church of Gainesville with FR. John Pacheco officiating.
Mr. Dudenhoeffer passed away December 2, 2018 in Gainesville.
Bud was born June 25, 1920 in Gainesville to Adolph Dudenhoeffer Sr. and Minnie (Dietz) Dudenhoeffer. He was raised in Gainesville on the family farm and attended St Mary's School and Gainesville High School, he would ride his favorite horse Stockings to and from School each day until he graduated GHS in 1938. On May 20, 1944 in St Mary's Catholic Church, Bud married the love of his life, Dorthea "Dot" Dudenhoeffer. Bud and Dot raised three children on their dairy farm in Gainesville and they retired from dairy farming in 1984. Bud and Dot were married for 55 years before Dot passed away in 1999. During Bud's retirement, he enjoyed fishing and found a love for gardening, many say he grew the best tomatoes they ever tasted.
Survivors include: Daughter Diane Smith & her husband Jim; Son Daniel Dudenhoeffer and wife Darlene; Son Tim Dudenhoeffer and wife Pat; Brother Alfred Dudenhoeffer; Sister in law Bessie Dudenhoeffer; Grandchildren Daryl Dudenhoeffer and wife Dana; Liane Price and husband Jason; Jeff Smith and wife Joni; Darla "DeeDee" Wolf and husband Greg; 9 Great Grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Jerry and Mike Dudenhoeffer; sisters, Eva Bauer, Tootie Bauer & Anne Otto; brother in-laws, Isidore Bauer, Carl Bauer & Melvin Otto.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Mary's Church.
