Alma Laverne Caudle Bridges, 90, of Sanger Texas, rose to our Heavenly Father's House on October 12th, 2017.

Visitation will be held Monday night October 16th, from 7PM to 8:30PM, at Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. The funeral service will be held at 10AM Tuesday October 17th, 2017 at Valley View Cemetery. Brother Walter Gruenwald of Pilgrim's Way Church will be leading services. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Coker Funeral Home of Sanger.

Alma was born of Robert and Autrey Caudle in Bradford Tennessee on April 27th, 1927. She lived her youth with siblings Howard, Eugene, Dean and Ann in Tennessee. She later moved to California as a young woman and then moved to North Texas to raise a family with her loving husband Gerald Edwin Bridges of 47 years. Alma loved our Lord and Savior Jesus as a young woman and was a living example of his love, grace and strength throughout her life to all that knew her. She served Christ faithfully and lead children's ministry in several North Texas Baptist churches and communities such as Sandy Lake Road Baptist Church Coppell, First Baptist Flower Mound and others. She was a loved member of Pilgrims Way Baptist Church in Sanger Texas.

Laverne (our "MeMa") led many souls to the Truth that is Jesus Christ, including my own. While she worked many trades as a homemaker, children's ministry leader, Walmart inventory specialist and greeter, walking with our Lord Jesus Christ and ministering with her family and all others was her passion and true joy of her heart. If you met her, you would hear, see and feel the light of life that is Christ our Lord. She lived out 1 Corinthians 13 and would be happy to share and live in its truths. "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7. She lived that and was that for me and all that knew her. How blessed we are to be loved by our Lord through her.

Alma Laverne Bridges is survived by her daughter Donna Marie Bridges of Corinth, four sons James E. Bridges of Valley View, Michael Bridges of Valley View, Dan Bridges of Corinth, Tommy Carroll of Kemp, her sister Dean Caudle of Greenfield, TN, eight grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald Bridges, a son Terry Carroll, her sister Ann and two brothers Howard Caudle and Eugene Caudle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Online condolences may be made at www.cokerfuneralhome.com. The Bridges, Caudle, Paris and Carroll families wish to thank Pilgrim's Way Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Sanger, Denton Presbyterian Hospital, Coker Funeral Home for their exceptional care they have given Alma and our family.
