Connie Wayne Mask of Sanger went to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Denton, Texas. He was 77 years of age. The son of Fred Douglas and Estella Faye (Prestage) Mask, he was born on January 7, 1941 in Woodbine, Texas.
He graduated in the Class of 1958 from Valley View High School and was a 1964 graduate of Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma. On June 10, 1961, he married Carolyn Beth Glass in Electra, Texas. They were married for 56 years.
Connie was a Registered Pharmacist from 1964 until his death. He worked in Dimmitt, Texas and Electra, Texas before buying Sanger Drug in 1968. After he and Carolyn sold Sanger Drug in 1989, he worked for Kroger Pharmacy in Denton for 15 years. He then worked relief for area independent pharmacies. After he officially retired from pharmacy, he started his most exciting career of being "Pop" to grandkids and his great-grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Sanger, his daughter Carrie Ann Sisco of Sanger, a son Douglas Wayne Mask and wife Paige of Nacogdoches, grandchildren Erin Roth and husband Jeremy of Venus, Texas, Wesley Mask of Nacogdoches, Amy McGee and husband Brian of Sanger, Baleigh Mask of Denton and Riley Mask of Nacogdoches, two great-grandchildren Grace Roth and Hayden McGee, one brother Rex Mask of Celina and two bonus-daughters Laura Wilson of Pennsylvania and Jenn De Le Ree of Sanger.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Sanger. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm with Rev. Grant Bowles presiding over the service. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
