Dr. Carman Ford Hawkins
Dr. Carman Ford Hawkins passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Willow Bend Assisted Living in Denton at the age of ninety-six. He was born October 8, 1920 in Davidson Saskatchewan to Ford and Annie (Bonisteel) Hawkins. Dr. Hawkins was a veterinarian and had served in the Canadian Army. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gainesville. He enjoyed grilling on the barbecue, working with ranchers and cowboys, playing bridge, but mostly laughing with friends and family.
Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 23rd, at Fairview Cemetery Pavilion in Gainesville with Rev. John Fleming officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hawkins of Denton; three children; seven grandchildren and nine-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maryjane Hawkins and eight brothers and sisters.
