Elwood Forney Robeson passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Forney was born on Aug. 20, 1918 in Prairie Point to father and mother, Earl and Eva Robeson. He graduated from Cooke County Jr. College. He received his pilot's license while in college.
Forney married Darleene Holland, of Haltom City. Their only child, a daughter, died at birth. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force. His working career was with Convair Aircraft in San Diego, Calif. and Fort Worth. He retired after 44 years at General Dynamics.
Forney was a member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Darleene Robeson; baby daughter; mother and father; brothers, Riley and Fred Robeson; and sister, Addie Marie Hatfield.
Survivors: Brother, Charles Robeson; sister-in-law, Snooks Lovett; and numerous nephews and nieces.
