Jerry Francis Jerome Pels "Jerry" Francis Jerome Pels, 88, of Pilot Point, TX, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 in Denton, TX. Jerry was born October 5, 1930 in Centralia, OK to Agnes Pels. He married Mary Ann Sicking on July 5, 1951 in Muenster, TX. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was self-employed as a farmer.
Jerry is survived by his spouse of 67 years, Mary Ann; three sons, Mark Pels and wife, Joyce of Collinsville, TX, Randy Pels and wife, Marcia of Pilot Point, TX, and Kenneth Pels of Pilot Point, TX; three daughters, Wanda Cargile and husband, James of Pilot Point, TX, Barbara McFarlane and husband, Tom of Decatur, TX, and Brenda Pels and partner, Jan Wilson of Frisco, TX; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Pels Speed and grandson, Tommy Boerner.
A Rosary will be prayed 6:00PM, Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Slay Memorial Chapel in Pilot Point with visitation following until 7:30PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30PM, Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Pilot Point, TX with Fr. John Martin officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brad Cargile, Dustin Cargile, Joey Boerner, Chris Pels, Adam Pels, Brian Pels, Allen Pels, Thor McFarlane, and Shawn McFarlane. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of Jerry Pels to 4H and FFA Family and Friends of Pilot Point.
