GARLAND-Graveside services for Jerry Lee Lupher, 86, will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas, officiated by Rev. Paul Burns. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, Texas. The family will have a visitation at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
Jerry passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 24, 1931 in Howe, Texas to Harry and Dessie (Tribble) Lupher. Jerry married Martha Hickman on July 15, 1954 in Whitesboro, Texas. He then served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Jerry attended First Presbyterian Church in Garland. He loved sports and enjoyed a great round of golf.
Survivors include his wife, Martha of Garland, Texas; Children, Gary Lupher and wife, Linda of Benbrook, Texas, Janet Moore and husband, David of Palm City, Florida, Karen Tarver and husband, John of Richmond, Texas; four grandchildren, Stacey, Erin, Lyndsey and Blake; seven great-grandchildren, Liam, Sydney, Laine, Hill, Caolan, Bradan and Edyn and a sister, Norma Reck of Colleyville, Texas.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Dearman Lupher and a granddaughter, Lauren Lupher.
