Lavera Murray

Lavera Murray Lavera Murray, a long-time resident of Gainesville, passed away on February 25, 2019, in Landrum, SC. She was born on May 12, 1932, in Bowie, Texas, to Thomas and Laura Martin. She is survived by her son and his wife, Bill W. and Nancy Murray of Greer, SC, by her grandson and his wife, John S. and McKenzie Murray of Georgetown, Texas, and her great-grandson, Wyatt Murry also Georgetown, Tx. Lavera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James William Murray of Gainesville, and by her infant son, Carl Wade Murry.
She loved to sew and was a seamstress for over 40 years, and donated her talent of sewing pillows to the Hospice House.
Funeral service will be Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 3:00 pm at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, Texas. Brother Jack Crockett will be officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 6-8pm at Meador Funeral Home, Gainesville, Texas. Pallbearers for Lavera will be Shelton Miller, Jerry Neighbors, William Baldwin, Don Mobley, Rex Russell, and Doyle Murray. She will be buried at Fairview Cemetery beside her husband.
