Loreine "Resa"'s Story
Rev. Mrs. Lorrine "Resa" Dunmeyer Ollie, was born in August 17, 1947 in Rantowles, South Carolina to the late Arthur and Corrine Roach Dunmeyer.
Lorrine attended the public schools of Charleston County, South Carolina attending Miley Hill Elementary and graduating from Baptist Hill High School in Yonges Island, South Carolina. She then received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas in 1973. While at Bishop College, she became a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She continued her education and received a Master's Degree in Reading Education from Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. In 2001, she obtained a Masters of Arts in Christian Service from Brite Divinity School, TCU - Fort Worth, Texas.
Something happened to Lorrine in the cafeteria of Bishop College while working in the service line. This strapping, muscle-bound football player came through her line and the rest is history. Jack and Lorrine fell in love and were married on January 2, 1971.
Lorrine joined St. Paul AME Church at an early age in Hollywood, South Carolina. She was a long-time member of the Smith Chapel AME Church joining 1971 working tirelessly in Women's Ministry, director of Vacation Bible School for 15 years, member of W.E.C Celestial Choir, Sunday School teacher and she also founded the Smith Chapel AME Puppet Ministry. She was born again on May 15, 1985 and accepted her calling to preach on November 18, 1989. Lorrine was pastor of Bethel AME Church in Gainesville, Texas from 1997-2005.
As a woman of strong conviction and love, Lorrine was especially excited about teaching the little ones and leaving a legacy for the next generation. For many years, she shared her gifts in the classroom with the students of Dallas ISD, teaching early childhood grades.
