Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Wortham with Reverend Don Thornton officiating. Interment will be at Wortham Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be Friday, November 24, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Corley-Porter Chapel Wortham.
Bobby was born December 4, 1945 in Alice, Texas to Bill & Lucille Shaw Biggar. Bobby developed a life long interest in classic cars as a teenager. After working in an auto parts store with a strong mentor to guide him, he could do almost anything that needed to be done mechanically. At the time of his death, he had a "56" that he had lovingly restored and had great memories of entering car shows, winning blue ribbons, and driving his family around to see the sights.
Taking away lessons learned from his mentor, he passed this knowledge on to other young men looking to model their character to be caring, responsible adults. He had an ability to be able to reach out to others based on his experiences.
Bobby was very artistic and had a talent that allowed him to design and make extremely complicated stained glass images. He was able to make designs that focused on the person receiving the art and he enjoyed seeing them exclaim," how did you know this was what I needed?"
He was rather shy but able to make multiple lifelong friends of fifty years or more. Once you became his friend, he would always be there for you.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Lucille Shaw Biggar; sister, Billie Gilmer and brother, John Biggar. Bobby is survived by his wife, Carol Biggar of Fairfield; daughter, Molly Biggar of Los Angeles, California; sister, Dicy Perry & husband, David of Oklahoma and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Perry, Edward Perry, Kyle Collins, Clay McKee, Luke Wooldridge, Sam Solomon and Craig Biggar.
