William Benton Hodgkinson


William Benton (W.B.) Hodgkinson, Sr., passed away on August 10, 2019, at his home in Gainesville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
He was born on March 1, 1938 to William Thomas and Bonnie Mae (Elliott) Hodgkinson, in Gainesville, Texas. He graduated from Gainesville High School and then attended University of North Texas in Denton, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Public Accounting. Then his degree took him to work at Harpool's Seed Company for seven years as their accountant. He raised peanuts for nearly forty years and cattle for sixty years. He also ran the Woodbine water Company for ten years. He then went to work at Weber Aircraft and retired after 25 years. He was member of the First Christian since childhood. He was also an Eagle Boy Scout.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Hodgkinson of 39 years; His children, William Benton Hodgkinson, Jr. and wife Bertha; Paul Hodgkinson and wife Scarlett, both of Gainesville; daughter, Leann Peyrot and husband Robby of Thackerville, Oklahoma.; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Coke County Home Hospice or the First Christian Church of Gainesville.
