Edith Rutledge of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on December 30th, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born on January 29, 1926 to George (Bob) and Hattie Bond in Gainesville, Texas. Edith started with South Western Bell in 1943 and retired in 1986 with AT&T. During her 43 year career, she was an admired and respected leader to both men and women which lead to her nick name "Leader". Before and after retirement she spent time on the beaches of Mexico, traveling with family and friends and watching her "Dallas Cowboys" as a season ticket holder for many years. Edith was a member of Saint James Episcopal Church where she had a stained-glass window added in honor of her husband and a tree was planted in Honor of her dear friend, Ed Schmock "Bud", who was also a member of the church. Edith is preceded in death by her husband Keith Raymond Rutledge (1994) and survived by her Sister Laveta Schmitz, sons Mike Cravens, Keith Rutledge Jr. and wife Nancy ,Randy Rutledge and wife Paula, and daughter Kim Hansard and husband Kane and 5 Grandchildren Joey, Ty, Logan, Kacie, and Chelcie. A special thank you for all of Edith's care givers at Care Serve, Churchill Senior Living, Hospice team, Heart to Heart and Silver Creek Assisted Living, truly Angels on earth. Edith's memorial will be held at 10:30 January 21, 2017 (Saturday) at Saint James Episcopal church located at 9845 McCree Rd. Dallas, TX 75238. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Saint James Episcopal Church Memorial Fund.
