Services for Thomas Riley Kindle of Gainesville, TX are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Randie Kindle and Rev. Gary Kindle. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
Born on September 29, 1938 in Bunceton, MO, Mr. Kindle was the son of Oscar and Opal Lilly Arnold Kindle. He passed away Monday, September 26, in Denton, TX, at the age of 77.
Thomas loved horses and in his younger years performed as a trick rider in rodeos. He managed several grocery stores through the years, including Kroger, Safeway, and Venture and also owned the Barnstore in Sedalia, MO. His hobbies included bird hunting, fishing, and watching the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals; however, most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Carol Kindle on September 10, 2005; and two brothers, Doc Kindle and James Kindle.
Survivors include his children, James Riley and Lena Kindle of Midlothian, TX, Lisa and Ken Shannon of Gainesville, Randall Ray and Gary Kindle of Richardson, TX, and Gregory Dean and Tammy Kindle of Weaverville, NC; two sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Louise Heiderich of Fenton, MO and Julie Ann and Jack Martin of Era, TX; sister-in-law, Shirley Kindle of Bullard, TX; 11 grandchildren, Heather Kindle, Tommy Kindle, Chris Kindle, Kirsten Kindle, Mike Kindle, Trenton Kindle, Aiden Kindle, Colton Kindle, Nikki Yeargan, Stephen Yeargan, and Angie Suttner; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Casket bearers are grandsons, Dustin Etter, Tommy Kindle, Chris Kindle, Trenton Kindle, Mike Kindle, and Stephen Yeargan. Honorary bearer is Aiden Kindle, grandson.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
