Gainesville - Alice Louise Grounds, age 81, of Gainesville, TX, passed away October 9, 2025 in Gainesville.

Born July 27, 1944, Alice was raised in Providence, RI and graduated from high school there. She married George Grounds on August 24, 1963 and the couple moved to Gainesville in 1968. Alice was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for over 20 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Alice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. She also loved to cook and will be fondly remembered for her apple pie and spaghetti and meatballs. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend and will be dearly missed.

Survived by: husband George Grounds of Gainesville; daughter Ginny Grounds of Fort Worth; daughter Deanna Harris (Bill) of Gainesville; grandchildren Jacob Harris (Breanna) of Lubbock and Madeline Harris of Dallas; great-granddaughter Anna'vae Harris; brother-in-law Herb Grounds (Jenny) of Arizona; nephew David Grounds; and niece Julie Grounds.

Predeceased by: parents Alfred and Mary (D'Agostino) Corbett; aunt Esther Hall; and uncle Charles Hall.

Services are scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2025 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. and a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
