Alvin  Shasteen
Celebration of life for Alvin Junior (Jim) Shasteen, 83, of Gainesville is set for Saturday, October 19, at 2pm at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Gainesville with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.
Jim was born in Tulare, California on December 30, 1935 to Alvin Hawkins Shasteen and Ina Pearl Lillard Shasteen. He passed away October 15, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by daughters: Eleise Blake, of Whitesboro; Cheryl Carver, husband Mike of Lewisville; Caren Fredde, husband Michael of Denton; and Lynn Gibbs, husband Wesley of Gainesville; grandchildren, Eddie Blake, wife Shannon, Julie Blake Pollard, husband David, Kim Blake Bucceri, husband Chris, Kari Blake Bishop, Rosie Blake Reed, husband James, Randy Gendron, wife Jessica Bruce, great grand children, Ryan Blake, Michelle Blake, Jason Pollard, Tony (Tiger) Taylor, Bayle Bucceri, Cayman Bucceri, Blake Bishop, Dillon Bishop, Jordan Blake, Alex Reed, Tristen Reed, Makayla Gendron, Randy Lee Junior Gendron, Anna Gendron, Connor Bridges, and great-great grandchild Carson; brother John Wesley Shasteen and sister Martha Marie Shasteen Krebs.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bobbie G Wenzel Shasteen, and brothers: Norman Dale Shasteen, Amos Eugene Shasteen, Robert Glen Shasteen, Olen Wayne Shasteen, and James Larry Shasteen
Jim was passionate about his faith and his love for his church. He often said, "If Jesus has it, it's okay!". He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family.
He was a Master Mason member in good standing, of Gainesville Masonic Lodge #210, since 1982.
He was a member of Moslah Shriners and Ft Worth Scottish Rite 1984-2011
He was a veteran of The Texas National Guard.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Gainesville.
