Barbara Kaye Allen Obituary

Funeral services for Barbara Kaye Allen of Gainesville, TX are scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Committal will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, TX at 3:00 pm on the same day. The family will receive friends the same day before the service from noon to 1:00 pm on Monday, February 24th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Allen passed away on February 18, 2025 in Corinth, TX.

Kaye was born on July 12th, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to Prentice R.V. Dickey and Ora Adell Dickey. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1962. Barbara married Jimmie Carl Allen on June 29, 1963 in Sherman, TX. After briefly living in California, they settled in Denison, TX to raise their family of two sons. As an adult, Kaye was a successful realtor in Denison and a wonderful mother and wife. In 1993, Kaye and Jim moved to Gainesville, TX to be near Jim's workplace at Petroflex. Kaye created a home there, a large group of friends, a work family with Jim at Petroflex and a church family at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Kaye's home was always the center of family activities. She enjoyed hosting big family gatherings on holidays and pool parties in the summer. She loved watching the Dallas Cowboys with Jim. Kaye will be remembered for her loving, caring and supportive nature for all of her family and friends.

Survivors include: son Chad Allen and wife Christa of Corinth, grandchildren Austin Allen and wife Blossom, Colton Allen and wife Nicole, Avery Allen, and Caris Allen Pasch-Cooper and husband Jake; great grandchildren Taylin Allen and Havin Allen; cousin Peggy Ann Carter Scott, sister-in-law Janet Dickey, sister-in-law Carla Neinast and husband John, and several nieces and nephews.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, her son David Wayne Allen, her two brothers Gerald Wayne Dickey and Carlton "Skip" Dickey, and her nephew Adrian Dickey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
