Beth Cheryl Merriman, of Shady Dale, OK, was born on September 26, 1947, in Joliet, IL to Edgar Leroy "Jack" and Betty Jean (Cagwin) Mayhugh. She passed from this life on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK at 75 years of age.
Beth attended school in Joliet and married Thomas Edward Merriman on June 13, 1977, in Yorkville, IL. They moved to the Marietta, OK area shortly after July 1, 1977, and have lived here ever since.
Beth was a family person and was a stay-at-home mom raising her children. She had a passion to make clothes, needlepoint, cross-stitch and was an avid reader. She had worked as a waitress at the Roundhouse Café, which was a family-owned business, and eventually worked as a cashier at the Gainesville Walmart, where she retired after 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Joyce Moyer and Jean Cagwin.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas Merriman of the home; son Brian Michael Krahn and wife Sara Frances of Ardmore, OK; daughters, Cheryl Lynn Jones and husband Ronnie of Ardmore and Tommi Jean McDonald and husband Christopher of Plano, TX; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Paul Mayhugh of Indianapolis, IN; and a brother-in-law, Delmer Moyer of Apache Junction, AZ.
A time of visitation will be held Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel from 6-8 P.M. Cremation services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Marietta.
