Betty Jean Ramsey, 61-year-old Gainesville, TX resident, passed away peacefully at the Whitesboro Nursing Home in Whitesboro, TX on Saturday, January 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, OK. Following services, Betty will be laid to rest beside her parents in the Jimtown Cemetery in Jimtown, OK. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Betty began this life on July 4, 1963, in Wilson, OK, the daughter of Herman and Virginia (Oliphant) Bruce. She grew up and attended schools in Marietta. On January 8, 1981, Betty married Jessie Ramsey. The two moved to Gainesville and spent more than eight years together before Jessie passed away on September 17, 1989. Betty will be remembered for sewing pillows and the joy she gained from gifting them to her family and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, George Bruce; and a granddaughter, Jesse Dawn Ramsey. Those left to cherish Betty's memory are her sons, Jason and Lyle Ramsey both of Gainesville; daughter, Klysta Moore of Durant; grandchildren, Celeste Moore, Jocelyn Martinez, Mia Ramsey, Lilianna Ramsey, and Addison Ramsey; brother Buddy Bruce of Marietta; and sisters, Gracie Thames of Fort Worth, TX and Robin Deck of Oklahoma City, OK.
