William Onis "Bill" Carr, 90, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Friday, February 23, 2024.

Bill was born on August 5, 1933 in Dexter, Texas to Frank James and Eula Leota (Long) Carr. He attended school at Whitesboro. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. After leaving the Army he joined his father in the family business, working at Carr's TV. He later became the owner of Radio Shack in Gainesville. He married Mary Elizabeth Brown on March 18, 1957 in Laredo, Texas. He enjoyed coin collecting, hunting for old treasures at Delaware Bend, taxidermy, hunting, fishing, dancing, metal detecting and being with family.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth, parents, Frank and Eula Carr, and sister, Shirley Norman, and stepson, Roy Dale Underwood.

He is survived by his daughter, Joanna Rigler and husband, Mike of Gainesville; daughter, Sandra Carr of Denison; grandchildren, Chris Collum, Joey Collum, Christian Collum, William Vaughn and wife, Sydney, Thomas Vaughn and wife, Rebecca, Michael Vaughn and wife, Sara, great-grandchildren, Jacob, Bailey, Liam, Mila, Lexi, Vera, William, Paisley, Presley, nephew, James Norman and wife, Kim, nephew, Bill Norman and wife Shelley, and sister-in-law, Ruth Simms and husband, Frank.

Funeral services honoring Bill will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Meador Funeral home in Whitesboro. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends was held on Monday, February 26, 2024 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Whitesboro.
