Carolyn Sue (Kidd) Griffith, age 79, of Gainesville, TX, passed away September 4, 2024 in Gainesville.

Carolyn was born December 10, 1944 in Muenster, TX. On August 15, 1960, she married the love of her life, David, and they enjoyed 64 years of happy marriage. She was a consummate homemaker, caring for her husband and beloved children. Mrs. Griffith enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, and was well known for the dozens of beautiful afghans she crocheted and gifted to her loved ones.

Survivors include: husband William David Griffith; son Keith Griffith (wife Tina); son Russell Griffith (wife Jayna); daughter Jana Mickey (husband Don); daughter Lanna Dishman (husband Clark); daughter Christie Griffith; grandchildren: Russell Griffith, Jr., Levi Griffith, Madison Jones (husband Judd), Joseph Bengfort (wife Holly), Lindsey Bengfort (wife Amy), Trey Dishman (wife Liz), Daniel Dishman (wife Tristan), Taylor Dishman (wife Lee Ann), Ryan Dickerson (wife Jenny), Carolyn Dickerson (and Joseph Ward), Crystal Clowers (husband Zach), Tara Godi (husband Seth), Tiffany Valliere (husband Steven), and Max Mickey (wife Chelsea); numerous adored great-grandkids; sisters: Sharon Prestage and Sheila Sewell (husband Gary); sisters-in-law: Lela Ward (husband Steve) and Starla Blaylock (husband Steve); brother-in-law Johnny Griffith; and many nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by: parents Thomas and Lounette Kidd; father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and Naomi Griffith; brother Glenn Kidd (and wife Linda Carol); brother John Kidd; sister Linda Christian; sister-in-law Raima Dean Hooper; brother-in-law Kermit Prestage; grandkids: Rosson Coy Godi, Oliver Randal Dishman, and Gracelynn Lorene Clowers; and nephew Dewayne Kidd.

Services are scheduled for Monday September 9, 2024 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. and a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
