Daniel Wade Mayo, 79, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his eternal home on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Danny was born on June 20, 1945 in Whitesboro, Texas to L.J. & Valta Mayo. He was owner and operator of Mayo Electric in Whitesboro. Danny married Judy Hunt in Gainesville on September 8, 1972. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding horses, old cars and drinking coffee at the truck stop.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Mayo of Whitesboro; son, Brett Mayo and wife, Sandy of Valley View; daughter, Julie Williams and husband, Keary of Whitesboro; brother, Waymon Mayo and wife, Linda of Whitesboro; sister, Joyce Crisp and husband, Jackie of Whitesboro; sister, Alma Jean Crisp of Calera, Ok.; brother, Ronnie Mayo and wife, Betty Ann of Whitesboro; grandchildren, Ashley Renteria, Chelsey Jackson, Melissa Ruiz, J.D. Mayo, Christina Bowley, Brad Mayo, Ethan Williams, Reanna Linehan, Britney Thomas, Kason Williams, and Sara Jane Mayo, 21 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Valta Mayo, son, Jeff Mayo, sisters, Patsy Carol Ware and Darlene Kittrell.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Williams, Kason Williams, Brad Mayo, J.D. Mayo, Santos Ruiz, Colton Thomas, Tedo Whitney, and Tony Carver.
Funeral services honoring Danny will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Hatcher and Rev. Rick Carney. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday October 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
