Lindsay - Donald Carl Sandmann, 79, of Lindsay Tx passed away on August 16, 2025.

Donny was born May 5th 1946 to Frank C Sandmann and Marie Beyer Sandmann in Gainesville Texas. Donny was a lifelong member of St Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Donny was enlisted in the Army on February 11th 1966, he served in Colorado and Korea until his discharge in 1968. At that time he went to work at National Supply and farmed with his brother Frank. He retired from National Supply in 1988 and then farmed full time. He was active with the church on St. Peter's Society, and Knights of Columbus and was on the board of directors at Nascoga Federal Credit Union. People described Donny as a strong and humble man. He enjoyed farming, cattle, and watching his grandkids in their activities.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda McCaul Sandmann, oldest daughter Stephanie, married to Dan Adams. Daughter Megan, married to Corey Anderle, and five grandchildren, Dawson, Riley (fiancée Zach Isabell), Gavin Anderle, and Samuel and Stella Adams. Sister Barbara Schon and sister-in-law Lorine Sandmann. Brother-in-Law Steve McCaul, brother-in-law PJ McCaul and wife Dee, along with several nieces and nephews. 


Donny was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Marie Sandmann, brothers, Henry, Charles, Frank and brother-in-law Jimmy Schon.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St Peter's Parish or Home Hospice of Cooke County.

A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas.
