Gainesville - Esperanza Medina Collazo, 62, of Gainesville, Texas passed away on August 20, 2025 at her home in Gainesville, Texas surrounded by loved ones. She was born on April 7, 1963 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Clemente Collazo Olivares and Maria Medrano Moreno.

Esperanza met the love of her life, Manuel Medina and they were married on April 18, 1984. She loved spending time with her grandkids, gardening and loved to travel. Esperanza is dearly loved and will be missed by so many people.

Esperanza is survived by her husband Manuel Medina, daughter Brenda Zayas and her husband Ruben Zayas and their children; Aly Chavez, Andrew Zayas and Avery Zayas, son Jesus Medina and his wife Maria Medina and their children; Osbaldo Medina, Yana Medina and Eric Medina, son Alan Medina, siblings; Gloria Hernandez, Sergio Collazo, Javier Collazo, Alberto Collazo, Jesus Manuel Collazo, Raul Collazo and Hilda Franco and her grandchildren; Natalie Ortega, Kelvin Ortega, Sofia Medina, Izabella Medina and Manuel Medina.

She was preceded in death by her mother Maria Medrano Moreno, father Clemente Collazo Olivares, brother Jose Antonio Collazo, sister Elda Rey and son Manuel Medina Collazo.

The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery of Gainesville, Texas.
