Eugene Owen
Eugene R. Owen
On January 4, 2020, Eugene R. Owen went peacefully to be with the Lord. He was born in Muenster, Texas on September 6, 1932 to Clarence David Owen and Mary Francis (Pautler).
He worked in the oilfield, at the Muenster Cheese Factory and retired from Valenite. He absolutely loved fishing, working on vehicles and woodworking in his shop and garage. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of his life! He called them his "little sweeties". He loved to pick them up from school and spoil them with treats from Walmart every day.
One of the life-long lessons we've learned from our dad, granddad, and great granddad is to never dwell on the past and always live for the future.
Gene is preceded in death by his loving wife, Oma Ruth Owen (Dodson). He is survived by his children, Paula Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Harold (Dolly) Owen of Lindsay, Texas, and Steven (Carla) Owen of Conway, Arkansas, sisters Nina Bardsley of Lindsay, Texas and Henrietta (Girlie) Romo of Fort Worth, grandchildren, Jeremy (Caitlyn) Owen of Lindsay, Texas, Brandi Martinez of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rebecca (Justin) Caillier of Gainesville, Texas, Sarah, Asher, Christa, and Emily Owen of Conway, Arkansas and great grandchildren, Morgan, Malanah, Dayla, Araceli, Chloe, Dominic, Ryan, Eleanor, and Sebastian.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Fr. Maurice Moon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. A rosary with a visitation to follow will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Gene will be missed, he was my neighbor and always kept an eye on me, always had a kind word and a smile on his face. I know I sure will miss him, he was a good man.
