Glenn Edwin Garrett, 94, of Gainesville, Texas, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Glenn was born on October 7, 1930 to John and Daisy Belle (McFarland) Garrett in Slidell, Texas. He attended Gainesville Independent Schools. Glenn married Betty Helen Moore on August 27, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas. They faithfully attended Calvary Baptist Church in Gainesville.

Glenn started his professional career as a Western Union Telegraph bicycle delivery boy and retired as a maintenance and custodial technician at Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Gainesville. He spent his free time over the years on hobbies such as woodworking, gardening, and fishing, as well as attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 75 years, Betty Helen Garrett; daughter and son-in-law Jim and Cathy Farquhar of Lake Kiowa; daughter-in-law Teresa Garrett Houston of Granbury; grandchildren Jason Farquhar of Fort Worth, Misty Farquhar Huggins and husband Justin Huggins of Lake Kiowa, Jon-Michael Garrett of Lubbock, and Kate Newton and her husband Ryan of Granbury; great-grandchildren Hannah, Zachary, Isabella, Idalia, and Gabriel Huggins of Lake Kiowa, Caroline Garrett of Lubbock, Harper Newton of Granbury; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Glenn was preceded in death by his son, Michael David Garrett; parents John and Daisy Belle Garrett; brothers Kenneth, Jack, and Paul Garrett; sisters Trudie Gardner, Doris Sanderfer, Jenny Pollard, and Louise Mozingo; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.

Funeral services honoring Glenn will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2024 at Geo. J. Caroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, officiated by Rev. Larry Kremling. Interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Valley View, TX. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19 at the funeral home.
