Whitesboro, TX - Hubert Brent Boen, 64, a longtime resident of Cooke County, Texas, passed away on March 10, 2026.

Brent dedicated his life to serving others through a long and respected career in emergency medicine. Over the course of 32 years as a Registered Nurse and 23 years as a paramedic, he cared for countless patients throughout North Texas. Known for his leadership, reassuring presence, compassion, Brent was committed to helping others in their most difficult moments. He made a lasting impact on all the patients and populations he served.

Brent's dedication to service extended beyond his local community. He participated in national disaster response efforts, assisting with relief operations following the September 11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina. He believed deeply in showing up when people needed help most, and he carried that sense of duty throughout his entire career.

Outside of work, Brent was known for his strong character, sense of humor, love of classic rock, and the deep, unbreakable pride he had for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who valued time spent with the people he loved most.

Brent is preceded by his mother, Barbara Boen.

He is survived by his father, Wendell Boen; wife, Karla Boen; his two sons, Brent Jr. Boen and Daniel Boen; his daughter, Brandi Boen; and his two grandsons, Kage Boen and Mark Gunkel.

He will be remembered for a lifetime of service, compassion, and dedication to others. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and in the family who loved him beyond measure.

A memorial service will be held at the Gainesville State Theater on March 19, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
