Joyce Lavee Scott Bentley
Joyce Lavee Scott Bentley, 83, of Fort Worth, Texas, left this life for the next on November 10, 2019. She was born on November 11, 1935 in Cooke County, Texas.

Her childhood was spent in Era, Texas, graduating from Era High School in 1954. She married Leslie Hugh Bentley in Era, Texas on June 16, 1956. She worked as the secretary to the plant manager at the National Supply Company until the time of her marriage. Her passions included genealogy, floral arranging, and baking.

Joyce dedicated years of service to teaching bible classes and developing curriculum for the Church of Christ. She also had the privilege of serving as the President of the Irving Genealogy Society.

Mrs. Bentley was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Bentley, her parents Lester and Mary Scott, as well as several brothers and sisters, aunts, and uncles.

She is survived in life by her children, Mary McCoy and Steven Bentley, grandchildren, Natalie Pleimann, Brittany Thibodeaux, Zachary Wyatt, and great-grandchildren, Ezra, Ian, Siddalee, Elisha, Pursalane, and Zephaniah.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to United Bible Community, helping the local homeless population, at PO Box 186, Joshua, Texas 76058.

At Joyce's request, her body has been donated to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for the advancement of medical science. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2019, at 213 Race Street, Everman. Texas.
