Judith Kaye Jones (Judy) Obituary

Lufkin, Texas - Judith "Judy" Kaye (Fischer) Jones peaceably passed away on January 2, 2025 in Lufkin, Texas. Judy was born April 30, 1941 in Big Spring, Texas to the late Davis Hines and Maude Mae (Graham) Fischer.

After WWII ended, her family moved back to the family country homestead, and Judy attended the Rad Ware school system near Gainesville. When Judy was 13 years old, the family moved to town where Judy attended school through high school. Judy was a cheerleader in junior high. She was honored to be chosen as Senior Favorite and Campus Favorite Runner-Up at Gainesville High School.

After high school, Judy attended North Texas University and subsequently moved to Dallas, Texas. There she met Oscar Jones whom she married. They formed and operated a successful abstract and title company for more than 30 years before merging their company with Fidelity National Title. Judy continued working for Fidelity until her retirement. Her working career lasted almost 60 years.

Judy and Oscar were married 47 years. After Oscar died, Judy continued living in their country home near Terrell, Texas until moving to be near her brother and sister-in-law in Lufkin. She spent her remaining years in Lufkin.

Judy was an incredible woman who cherished both family and friends. Those who had the privilege of knowing her soon realized that she was selfless and nonjudgemental. No one ever heard her say a negative word about anyone. She exhibited a sincere love of others.
