Margie Hastings Obituary

Margie Eyvone Hastings, 83, of Gainesville, TX was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Eyvone was born on May 3, 1939 in Littlefield, TX to Calvin and Lillie Mae (Weed) Calvert. She was a graduate of Gainesville High School, a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville and a member of the Woodbine Ladies Volunteer Fire Department. Margie enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching TV, especially game shows and old westerns, she loved working in her gardens and tending her flowers.

She is survived by her son, William Benton Hodgkinson Jr. of Gainesville; son, Paul Hodgkinson and wife, Scarlett of Gainesville; daughter, Leann Peyrot and husband, Robby of Thackerville; brothers, Dwyan Calvert and wife, Vera; and Gordon Lee Calvert, both of Lufkin; eight grandchildren, Trent, Jason, Kadie, Amanda, Newly, Becky, Lisa and Larry, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Eyvone was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lillie Calvert.

Funeral services honoring Eyvone will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Jerry Davis and Rev. Trent Hodgkinson. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
