Gainesville, Tx - Marjorie Nell Harkins McCullough passed from this life to the next on February 21, 2026.

Marjorie was born to Ruby and Grady Harkins on February 16, 1931, in Vernon, Texas. She and her twin sister, Patricia Ann, were raised on farms in Vernon and then Comanche before graduating from Gustine High School in 1948.

Marjorie married Harold Deane McCullough, also from Comanche, on March 14, 1952 and they settled in Odessa. Marjorie became an avid bridge player. She was also a long-time member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, through which she participated in numerous community service projects, attended conventions, and made lifelong friends.

In 1981, Marjorie and Harold moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and then to Hobbs, New Mexico, where they eventually retired. They purchased a vacation home in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Nothing made Marjorie happier than sitting on the deck in Ruidoso. She and Harold hosted 29 family Christmases in Ruidoso, along with many other gatherings with family and friends.

In 2001, Marjorie and Harold moved back to Odessa. After Harold's passing in 2014, Marjorie moved to Gainesville, Texas, where she lived until her death.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Arleene Fomby and husband Allen of Gainesville, James McCullough and wife Nancy of Abilene, and Gail Zarafonetis and husband John Patke of Lo de Marcos, Mexico; and her sister, Patricia Hayes of Mansfield. She is lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren: Kelley Loyd of Denison, Matt Loyd and wife Amy of Plano, Jamie Casler and husband Zachary of Austin, and Kandice McCullough of Abilene, as well as one great-grandchild, Eli Kidd.

Graveside services will be held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche on Saturday, Feb 28th at 1pm.

Donations may be made in Marjorie's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Salvation Army Hobbs Corps in Hobbs, New Mexico.
