Mary McConnell
Mary McConnell Obituary
Gainesville - It was a Thursday, April 23, 2026, when the Lord called her home from Denton, TX. Mom's not coming home...
Mary Jane McConnell, 83, of Gainesville, TX, was born April 1, 1943, in Drumwright, OK. She had a good life here on earth but she also experienced much hardship and wrongs by some of those that she loved; yet you would never know it, she was always delightful and brightened any area that she entered. A best seller book could be written simply by chronicling her life.
Aside from being a homemaker, Mary held many jobs to assist the family financially and contribute to the community. She was a member of Old Orchard and Temple Baptist Church, a PTA member and cross-walk attendant for Lewisville ISD, worked at Gibson's, JC Penny's, Borden Chemical, and was a long-time support manager at the Gainesville Wal-Mart.
Mary had Five children: Robert Millsap, Sheri Leipsic, Jim Horn, Kelly Powers, and Johnny Horn. She had 4 grandkids: Toni Leipsic, Parker Millsap, Kyle Powers, and Clois Powers. She had 4 great-grandkids.
She showed her children and those around her how to Love, how to care, how to be compassionate, how to be THE good, and to be grateful with humility. Above all that she did; as her son Robert stated: "dragging" us to church and exposing us to the truth of salvation was by far the greatest gift.
