Copperas Cove, TX - Phillip D. Blakesley was born September 23, 1979 in Sherman, Texas to Patti Land and Phillip R. Blakesley Jr. He passed peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by love, in the early morning hours of February 20, 2026.

Phillip's life was marked by his dedication to serve others. He worked tirelessly as a pediatric hospice field nurse and other nursing positions throughout his 20 year career. He was a member of Texas Gay Rodeo Association, International Gay Rodeo Association, Diamond State Rodeo Association, and Red River Rodeo Association. He so loved to rodeo and being a mentor for others. He had a special love for horses: they brought him such comfort and peace. The greatest joys of his life were his daughter Michaela and his granddaughters, Willow Faye and Rowyn Kathleen, whom he loved with his entire being.

Phillip's presence was larger than life. He could light up any room just by entering it. He radiated love, creativity, and compassion. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He was a true and loyal friend and family member. He gave the best hugs and was full of advice and opinions. He always had a project and was full of ideas for countless other things he wanted to accomplish. His memory will forever be cherished, and his loss is deeply felt by all who loved him.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Michaela and Cody Roark; his granddaughters Willow and Rowyn Roark; his mother and step father Patti and Charlie Land; his brother and sister-in-law James and Brenda Land; his sister and brother-in-law Jordan and Ben Korson; and his sister Hilary Zimmerer. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as countless friends.

Phillip is preceded in death by his grandparents James and Bobbie Westbrook; his father Phillip R. Blakesley Jr; his grandmother Anna Land; as well as other beloved family members and close friends.
