Roger Corbin Obituary

Midlothian, Texas - On May 1, 2025 Roger cinched up a golden saddle on a big beautiful bay horse and rode off into that enormous heavenly coastal pasture w/ thousands of baldy cattle to meet his forever trail boss, Jesus, and on to his final ranch spread; and I'm almost certain he's already probably named it the "Golden" Rafter C. Roger was eagerly greeted by those that had entered before him; his mother-Thelma Attebury Corbin, father-Weldon Bailey Corbin, daughter-Sheri Corbin Fearis, wife-Rebecca Simmons Corbin, brother-Wylie Corbin Lewis, and grandson-Taylor Corbin.

Weldon Roger Corbin, was born on October 24, 1937, in Forestburg, TX to Thelma Attebury Corbin and Weldon Bailey Corbin. Roger loved his family incredibly, and devoted his life to serving, mentoring & educating the lives of countless farmers, ranchers, families, youth and colleagues engaged in the Agriculture Industry all over the nation.

From 1967 to 1989 Roger unwaveringly served the Ellis County area, going on to become one of the most distinguished County Extension Agents that ever lived, and worked for the Texas A&M Extension Service. In 1978 he was awarded the 'Distinguished Service Award' which is the highest recognition given by the National Association of County Agricultural Agents.

Roger retired from the Extension Service in 1990, and in November of 1992 he and Rebecca Simmons Corbin were married. Both devoted their time & efforts into opening & building one of the most prominent large scale feed & supply stores in 5 counties - "Ranchers Supply" in Midlothian, TX. Roger & Becky were members of Wagon Wheel Cowboy Church till health restricted them, and both were part of the start-up of 1/2 dozen Cowboy Churches in the state of Texas.

Roger was a man of impeccable character, Godly integrity, & lived a life of serving others.

To celebrate Roger's life, a service will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2 pm at the Ellis County Cowboy Church. Please visit
