Whitesboro, Texas - Russell Nathan Townsley, age 39, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed from this life on November 23, 2025, at his home in Whitesboro.

Born on February 20, 1986, in Gainesville, Texas, Russell was the son of Thomas Hayes Townsley and Bonnie Jean Womacks. He grew up with a love of family, a strong sense of fairness and a willingness to always help others. For almost 10 years, Russell has been a husband and family man while working in the health services and IT support fields where he could continue to help others.

Russell was a man of few words but deep loyalty and strength. He found joy in the simple things: working on things around the house, playing video games, cooking, and sharing time with family. His big heart, hardworking nature and sense of humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Erin Townsley of Whitesboro, Tx; stepchildren Joel Sziklai, Matthew Sziklai and Hailee Sziklai of Whitesboro, Tx; brother Kyle Townsley and partner Dale Hale of Whitesboro, Tx; his uncle John Jones of Gainesville, Tx; uncle Jason Fain and wife Jeanne Fain of Fort Worth, Tx.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Townsley, Bonnie Womacks, stepdad Les Underwood; grandparents Luther and Patsy Fain, Joe and Mary Townsley.

A Celebration of Life service to honor Russell's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Gainesville, Texas. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man whose legacy is built on perseverance, hard work, and a drive to help others.

Russell Nathan Townsley will be deeply missed, remembered always for his resilience, his big heart, his humor and a willingness to always help others in need.
