Thelma "Louise" Barron passed away on June 3, 2024 at the age of 75. Louise was born on March 21, 1949, at home in Burns City in a time when resources were scarce and the ability to make it on your own was valued. With a blend of grit, determination, and independence she lived life her way until the very end.

Louise was a long-time factory worker at Safran seats (Weber Aircraft), serving on the assembly line in various roles for forty-eight years. A devoted union member, she held the line during the last strike before her retirement along with many employees half her age. It was important for her to fight for the underdog and the rights of others. Her only regret when leaving was that she was not able to hold out and be the longest serving employee there.

She leaves behind a legacy of resiliency, integrity, and self-reliance some may call stubbornness while others call it character. She loved throwing dice and enjoyed a round (or three) of Farkle at family get togethers. The one thing she loved more than dice were her two grand-daughters, whom she cherished and bragged about to all that would listen. Although she did not have an engineering degree, Louise was able to out MacGyver most people on their best days, regularly tinkering and creating home-made contraptions to suit her needs. Her ingenuity is best described by the saying they just don't make them like they used to.

Louise, will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. She loved to visit, catch up on old times, and might just be the original teller of "my mama always said" stories. We love you mom, nana, Weezer.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lawana and Clint Woodlock, grand-daughter Kylie Woodlock and her husband James Weippert, grand-daughter Reagan Woodlock and her husband Jacob Goldsworthy, Beverly Woodlock, her sister Rosa Ruby, many nieces and nephews, numerous extended family members, and wonderful friends from her time at Weber Aircraft. She was preceded in death by her husband Elroe, her mother and father, three brothers, her beloved sister Lillian Gatlin, and her niece Vivian Grooms.
