Jessie Wayne Rains, 80, of Thackerville, OK passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Ardmore. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

Wayne was born March 18, 1942 in Thackerville, OK, the son of Wadie Franklin and Artie Fae (Edwards) Rains. He was a lifelong resident of Thackerville. Wayne drilled water wells and was a peanut farmer. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and dune buggies, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Tim Rains and wife Donna of Marietta and Chad Rains of Thackerville; sister, Judy Elliot and husband Ray of Marietta; sister-in-law, Helen Rains of Thackerville; six grandchildren, Tyler Rains, Jacob "Cole" Rains, Cade Rains, Morgan Handley and husband Chris, T.J. Rains, and Asher Hartman; three great-grandchildren, Reece Handley, Chloe Rains, and Zoe Rains; and one great-grandchild on the way, Renlie Handley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, M.C. Rains, Russell Rains, Syble Hollar, Virginia Teague, James "Snookie" Rains, Jane Lake, and Jerry Dan Rains.

Casket bearers are Anthony Reed, Gary Rains, Richard Rains, Roy Rains, Chris McMahon, and Ricky Rains. Honorary bearers are Dub Bell, Bill Gardner, Ken Bacon, Don Scivally, and Henry Vondrak.

The family has asked that those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Wayne's name, please remember the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
