Whitesboro - Weldon Clement Morgan, 88, of Whitesboro, Texas, an educator of 37 years, and insurance salesman of 25 years, a beloved husband, and father passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from a heart condition.
Weldon was born on July 30, 1937 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Rev. BW Morgan and Naomi Magness Morgan. He earned his bachelor's degree and his master's degree from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma and completed other academic studies at North Texas in Denton. Weldon began his career in 1960 in Fort Wingate, NM, and then went on to teach at Church Rock, NM, Gallup, NM, and Huslia, Alaska, later moving to Richardson ISD in Texas. While in New Mexico and Texas he began to move through the ranks as a teacher and principal and up to administration as Area Director over Lake Highland in Richardson ISD. After retiring from education, he went to work for Hibbs Hallmark Insurance in Tyler, Texas, retiring again as top salesman in 2023. Finally settling in Whitesboro with his beloved wife Kathy. Weldon was a devoted husband and father to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Katherine Williams Morgan, son, John Williams Morgan and wife, Donna Morgan, sister, Jahala Morgan Williams and several loving family members.
Funeral services honoring Weldon will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. No formal visitation is scheduled.
