Memorial services for William James Akins, 72, of Gainesville are set for 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 at the First Baptish Church of Krugerville in Aubrey. Arrangements are under the direction of Geo.J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. Mr. Akins died Sept. 8, 2014 in Gainesville. He was born June 9, 1942 in Dallas. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Hanna Akins of Gainesville; children, Robert Akins of San Antonio, Michelle LeClaire of Sanger, Stacy and Steven McWhorter of Groesbeck; siblings, Floyd Akins and Mike Akins of Gainesville, Bill Akins of Aubrey, Jack Akins of Sadler, Brenda Mahon of Plano, Linda Brecheen of Robson Ranch, Glenda Carley of North Richland Hills and Connie Mullins of Los Colinas; and many grandchildren.
